2006 $20 Bill, IB-A

Have a twenty dollar note and want to know its value? Leave a comment

Labor Day calls for picture of what everyone works so hard for...cash-money. This is not the 2006 star note I featured before. It is just a normal 2006 series twenty dollar bill but since I am posting one of everything might as well showoff this one.

The United States twenty dollar has to be the most counterfeited bill in the world, maybe the hundred beats it but barely. This past week alone minor stories about fakers hit the news world. One in Duluth and another in Madison, but be aware many more did not make the news. The best way to detect a fake is by touch, the linen used is different when compared to most paper. Although some of them use and bleached ones and fives as the stock but this often fails since the ink does not print well.

Here's the stats for this bill...
Type/Federal Bank: $20 Note- D.C. / New York
Year: 2006
Printings: 480,000,000
Printed: December 2006
Run: 10th of 15 from IB57600001A - IB64000000A
Value: CU(crisp-uncirculated) $22.00

Do you have currency and want to know its value? Leave a comment/question and I will do my best to find out the price and history for you.

7 dollars worth, for Comments/Questions click here.:

At least there are more security features nowadays. The only down side is the older designs aren't being made anymore. The $20.00 bill was beautiful now it seems too modern. Perhaps some circulating commemorative bills that have the older designs to keep things interesting. Some circulating commemorative coins with older designs would be nice too. Oh great! Now I'm starting to think like a Canadian with all these circulating commemoratives.

That will never happen since the opportunity for fakes is too risky.

The $1 and $2 bills have not changed and are still be made.

Yeah, I know. It would be nice, though. Maybe we'll see some 100th anniversary coins in the coming years. I'm not expecting anything for circulation until 2032, but maybe a nice uncirculated or proof coin for the anniversaries.
